Humpback Whale & Jellyfish Resin Lamp
This whale lamp is a humpback whale gliding beneath a drift of jellyfish, cast by hand in clear epoxy resin on a wood base and lit from below by a built-in LED. Switched off it reads as a little piece of ocean on your shelf; switched on, the light travels up through the water and the jellyfish seem to glow.
A whale night light with real depth
The jellyfish aren't printed on a flat panel. Each one is placed at a different depth while the resin is poured in layers, so the scene changes as you walk past it and the whale looks like it's swimming through the water rather than sitting on top of it. Because every piece is poured and cured by hand, the exact position of the jellyfish, the tiny bubbles and the wood grain are a little different on every lamp.

Neither the whale nor the jellyfish are printed. They are small physical figures set inside the resin during casting.
